J’ai invité fin avril Nora Bouarioua, journaliste de la chaîne Alsace 20, qui couvre les actualités alsaciennes de Paris, à m’accompagner aux Gobelins pour suivre une collaboration engagée avec la Manufacture de Beauvais dans ses ateliers parisiens. Il s’agit de transcrire une des images de ma nouvelle série Soleil des Forêts en tapisserie de basse-lisse. Ce reportage à l’atelier permet de voir des essais à partir desquels nous discutons du projet avec les artistes licières… Il s’agit également d’un bref portrait d’artiste en situation réelle, les coulisses en quelque sorte… Durée 1:54 min…

Some days ago I invited, French reporter Nora Bouarioua, in charge of the parisian news for Alsace 20 channel TV, to a visit at the Manufacture de Beauvais in Paris at its Gobelins Site. The crew of artisans will work on an horizontal loom to create a hand woven tapestry from a photograph of my new series Sun Forests. At this stage we are discussing the general direction of their transcription of the image into their own artistic tools, and discuss things around a set of actual size preparatory drafts that help them to find out the best way to proceed. This short documentary gives an insight into this process at its early stages and shows the reality of the artistic work, in the backstage, so to say… {The interview is in French (no subtitles)}
